and reward their employees with "Let it Ride for
Safety" Bonuses
In April 2004, we implemented our new "Let it Ride"
for Safety Incentive Program. Have you ever played a
card game called "Let it Ride"? Basically,
the game is played like this; if you win the first hand
you can either collect your small winnings, or you can
"Let it Ride" and play the next hand for a
lot more than the first hand because your first hand
winnings get compounded. Yet, you didn't have to gamble
anything out of pocket and you can let each winning
hand grow by saying "Let it Ride" until you
have a sizeable amount to collect.The only thing you
have to do to win in "Let it Ride" is don't
get injured. A recorded injury drops you back to Level
One without Bonus $. To qualify you must work a weekly
average minimum of 24 hours or a monthly minimum total
of 100 hours. In your first month that you qualify in
hours worked and do not have an accident you are eligible
for Level One Safety Bonus. Level One Safety Bonus is
$5.00 for each time your qualify for Level One Safety
Bonus. You can collect the $5.00 for Level One or you
can "Let it Ride" to the next month which
means you are now trying to qualify for Level 2. If
you chose to collect the Level One Bonus, then the next
month you are qualifying again for Level One. Level
Two allows the previous $5.00 to become $10.00 from
the previous month and $5.00 more for qualifying at
Level 2. So,instead of collecting $5.00 for Level One
each of the first two months ( a total of $10.00), you
would get $15.00. But, if you want more money, don't
collect the $15.00 for Level Two and "Let it Ride"
for Level Three. Now, the Level Three will be the $15.00
you qualified for at Level Two plus more $ for Level
Three. The same scenario continues though Level 12.
However, we want the program to end each December so
that field employees can build up a sizeable bonus for
Christmas. Therefore, the current year will only go
9 Levels so that it can end in December and we will
begin at Level One again in January for a full 12 Level
Year of "Let it Ride" in the next year.
